Parental notification is obtained at the beginning of each school year for students to be treated by the local health facility. Communication regarding all health procedures is provided on an ongoing basis to the parents.
A nurse will notify the parents or guardians of illnesses or injuries not covered by standing orders as soon as possible, within 24 hours. Written permission is obtained at the beginning of each school year for students to be treated by the Devils Lake health facility.
When circumstance permit, NDSD/RC Health professionals will contact parents before treatment is provided, however, in the event of an emergency and depending on the situation, parents will be contacted as soon as possible. Weekly Health Services reports will be provided to the parents if the child was treated medically.
